Golf Tours and Academy of Asia golf league

We are starting our own league. The idea behind this is to encourage those golfers, who are starting and like most of us have caught the 'bug', want to improve and become a little more competitive, or those who find time for their game difficult.

Should we have the response we hope, we will have a meeting once a month in various destinations of Thailand and Malaysia , perhaps China . A meeting will consist of 24 or more players. We will start by offering the first 3 meetings in Hua Hin twice and Pattaya, both these venues are in Thailand . We anticipate that the players will come from areas no further away than say 4 hours flying time, or it could be a taken as part of a golfing holiday. It will be fairly intensive with a golf competition and set and personal tuition every day.

As the league takes shape and the categories are formed, members, we hope, will begin to recognize that they belong to their own amateur tour, with year end winner's meetings and monthly updates on individual progress. The first year's final in December 2005 will be held in Kanchanaburi , Thailand.

The daily format of the league will be:-

4 days - Wednesday afternoon/evening until Sunday afternoon/evening.

Wednesday afternoon/evening, meet and pick-up from Bangkok airport (unless otherwise advised), transfer to the hotel chosen for the meet.

Thursday after breakfast a short golf meeting to sort out handicaps starting times and lessons at the hotel, before transferring to the golf course of the day and the morning tuition. After a light lunch (or heavy if you wish) the competition begins. Daily prizes and a beer or two before returning to the Hotel.

Friday straight to the course of the day and a morning round followed after your buffet lunch by the lessons.

Saturday last day of competition, played in the afternoon and after your tuition. Evening prize giving at a local restaurant.

You can have the choice - Stay at the Imperial hotel, Lakeview or a 3*hotel in Hua Hin, please state your preference when enquiring. The courses are about 30 mins. from the centre of town.

The City beach Hotel, 3* and very central to all that happens in the town of Hua Hin. Close to the beach and restaurants it is ideal for those wanting to eat and sleep with plenty of energy left over for the next golf day.
