Green Valley Country Club
Designed by: Robert Trent Jones Jr.
Length: 6,580 yards from the Blues
Par: 72
Number of Holes: 18
Opened:1988
Golf Carts:
The Green Valley Country Club is now a beautiful course as
the shrubs and trees have grown-up. Not far outside Bang Na,
it is situated in lush countryside and features some large
lakes, this course is not for the feint hearted as the clever
placement of its fairways, greens and holes do test the best
golfer. Many of the fairways give sloping shots and some of
the greens are situated behind mounds. It is difficult, but
the course is also very enjoyable, especially those holes
with water hazards lining the fairways. The clubhouse is opulent
and dining here is expensive compared to other clubs.

Thana City Golf and Country Club
Designed by: Greg Norman
Length: 6,920 yards from the Blues
Par: 72
Number of Holes: 18
Greg Norman really came and helped design
this course, I know, because a friend of mine caddied for
him before it opened and relates the story of Norman overshooting
one green some 235 yards distant by a few yards, and had the
green moved! A typical Bangkok course created from rice fields
and therefore flat, but good use of water and shaping makes
for an interesting course. Caddies excellent, and all-round
facilities of a high standard.

Lakewood Country Club
Designed by: J. Michael Poellot
Par: 72
Number of Holes: 27
Large luxurious club house featuring international restaurant
and full locker room facilities, club house includes conference
and banquet rooms. Top quality course with every on-course problem,
water, bunkers and well shaped fairways. Enjoyable to play for
all standard of player, a little expensive but always in top
condition.

Kiarti Thanee Country Club
Par: 72
Number of Holes: 18
Attractive and imposing restaurant clubhouse surrounded by
water overlooks this very good Bangkok course. Tight, flat
course with some tough holes on both the nines to make you
earn your beer afterwards. Water hazards are particularly
well positioned (or not, depending how well you are playing!).

Subhapruek Golf Club
Designed by: Pete Dye
Par: 72
Number of Holes: 18
Attractive course with 19 holes (a feature for those still undecided
on who won what). Dye’s creation has many of the problems
associated with his designs including the sleepers around greens,
waste bunkers and altogether a course that needs planning. The
proshop is well stocked and clubhouse provides good food and
service.

Pinehurst
Designed by: A. E. Hara
Length: 6,580 yards from the Blues
Par: 72
Number of Holes: 27
Site of the first European Thai tour competition, the Johnny
Walker Classic in 1992 and the course is much better as it is
now mature .
The North Course ('The Lakes') has many water hazards &
resembles golf courses typical of the United States. The South
Course ('The Meadow') features mounds and water hazards, a parkland
style, whilst the West Course (the Forest) is the most appealing
with its bushes and inhibiting trees.
Luxury club house features a very good restaurant, a pool and
sauna and luxury male and female locker room facilities.

Natural Park Ramindra Golf Club
Designed by: Jack Nicklaus
Length: 6,984 yards from the Blacks
Par: 72
Number of Holes: 18
A typical Nicklaus course design with an abundance of waste
bunkers and dog-leg right holes. I’m not a great fan
of these designs as the older I get the more the ball wants
to take off right. Some good holes of course but once you
have played one or two of his courses you’ve played
them all. Popular course so I must be wrong!
Panya Indra Golf Course
Designed by: Ronald Fream
Length: 6,909+
Par: 72
Number of Holes: 27
Long time since I played here, but as with Fream’s courses
much thought has gone into the appearance, which is excellent
and colourful. There are some memorable holes to play and
all golfers will enjoy there round.
President Golf and Country Club
Designed by: Robert Trent Jones Jr.
Length: 6,971 yards from the Golds
Par: 72
Number of Holes: 27
This course is one of the best of the best of the new breed
of courses in Bangkok, a great place to start a golf holiday
as it has 27 holes of wide fairways and not too much trouble
whilst the placement of the large greens makes for interesting
shot making. The fairways are manicured and lined with mature
trees and palms. Natural lakes and well placed deep bunkers
add to the courses enjoyment. It should be noted that this
course provides one of the best driving and practice ranges
found anywhere in Thailand
Large modern clubhouse with friendly staff.
The Vintage Club
Designed by: Arthur Hills and Associates
Length: 6,579 Yards
Par: 72
Number of Holes: 18
The Vintage Club is located 40 kilometers east of central
Bangkok and has become a popular club to play at, particularly
if your next venue is Pattaya.
The sea, not in evidence, but close enough for the breezes
to offer a little refreshment, enhance this up and coming
course. A rolling terrain with coconut palms and bougainvilleas
collecting errant shots.
Perhaps the course is made more of a challenge because of
need of the shots to the greens requiring accuracy. The 8th.
Hole, a par 3 of some 190 yards requires a good shot from
wherever you play from, as it is well protected by water everywhere
and greenside bunkers—good luck. Fine finishing hole,
par 4, 414 yards, that the longer hitter can short cut, but
the tortoise has a great chance by playing safe, narrow green
with water to the left and bunkers to the left. A fine course
complimented by a matching clubhouse.
